Alumni Voyageur Hall of Fame 2010

The next Alumni Voyageur Hall of Fame will be in 2010, please submit your nominations to alumni@laurentian.ca.

The candidate must meet the following criteria:

Selection criteria

 

Effective in 2006, the Alumni Voyageur Hall of Fame certificates and plaques will list the names of the inductees as they were at the time they were at Laurentian. The inductees degree(s) from Laurentian University will follow their name.

 

Athletes

  1. Must have graduated from Laurentian and/or made a significant contribution to Laurentian Athletics as a student athlete;
  2. A minimum waiting period of 5 years is suggested unless extraordinary circumstances dictate otherwise;
  3. CIAU Champion - Individual or Team Member;
  4. All-Canadian selection;
  5. Represent Canada internationally;
  6. OUAA/OWIAA/OIAA/OUA All-Star selection – Min. of 2 times;
  7. CIAU/OUAA/OWIAA/OIAA/OUA record holder during career;
  8. League or CIAU Most Valuable Player i.e. Lebel Plaque, Nan Copp;
  9. CIAU Academic All-Canadian or LU Dean’s List;
  10. OUAA/OWIAA/OIAA/OUA Champion - Team or individual, minimum of 1; League or conference champion, minimum of 2;
  11.  Athlete of the Year;
  12.  Voyageur Award winner

A minimum of 5 of the above should be present to be considered.  For athletes who played during the 1960’s and early 1970’s, before All-Ontario and All-Canadians, adjustments would be made to reflect that fact.

 

Coaches

  1. Coach CIAU championship team or CIAU top 3 finishing team a minimum of 2 times or coach 4 individuals as CIAU medal winners;
  2. Coach Ontario championship team a minimum of 2 times or 6 individual Ontario champions;
  3. CIAU Coach of the Year;
  4. Ontario Coach of the year a minimum of 2 times;
  5. Member of coaching staff of a national team a minimum of 2 years or coach a team or be named to the coaching staff at Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Pan-Am Games or FISU;
  6. Coach Ontario league, conference or division titlist a minimum of 4 times.

These are factors that can be considered.  For coaches who coached during the 1960’s and early 1970’s, before Coach of the Year honours were bestowed, adjustments would be made to reflect that fact.

 

Teams

  1. National or provincial champions.

Builders

  1. Candidates shall have made a significant contribution to the growth and development of the Laurentian Athletics program.
