Applying to the Program

Admissions

Prerequisites

Students accepted into the program typically have an Honours Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Human Kinetics, or Sociology (or a related field) with an overall average of at least B+. Should a student not meet the minimum academic standing, the student has the option of successfully completing a qualifying year in one of the three academic disciplines.

Students without an academic background in the above three disciplines wishing to be considered for acceptance into the DEVE program will have their qualifications examined and may be required to complete additional course work or a qualifying year.

Those students looking to pursue the M.Sc. path are required to possess a B.Sc. degree in one of the parent disciplines or a related field. At Laurentian, for instance, the parent disciplines are Kinesiology or Behavioural Neuroscience.  A related field at Laurentian would be Nursing or Biology.

Application Process

  1. They should be completed and returned with required documentation to the Office of Admissions with the  application fees as instructed. Students who go on to register in the program will have this fee applied towards their tuition.
  2. The office of admissions will notify applicants of the decision on their admissibility. If admissible, applicants will receive a response document.
  3. Applicants wishing to accept the offer of admission must return the response document to the office of admissions. Failure to return the response document will mean that applicants will not receive a registration package.
