Extension services

Overview
Extension Services provides fisheries science support in the form of field sampling, data entry, and interpretation. Although we specialize in addressing applied fisheries management questions, we offer a range of technical/analytical skills relating to fish biology in general.

Services
Some examples of Extension Services projects include: standard index netting method development, regional and provincial-scale reporting, angling regulation development/modeling, database/data browser construction, individual lake assessment and diagnosis, data entry, and sample processing.

Collaborators
Our collaborators include government agencies, non-government organizations, and other universities. We have also worked with tourist operators, stewardship groups, local angler clubs, etc. and always welcome solicitations from interested parties.

Databases
The Co-op houses databases of walleye index netting from 1993 to 2003 with over 500 Ontario lakes sampled and over 150 lakes sampled from 1999 to 2004 using the NORDIC biodiversity standard method.
