Faculty of Management Research

 

The Faculty has three official research teams: the Small Business Research Group (SBRG); the Institute of Sports Marketing (ISM); and the Decision Aid Research Group (DARG). These comprehensive clusters bring together several of our investigators under a number of research topics. There are also other themes being developed as part of collaborative or independent research activities including:

 

1)     Community development: Information and Communication Technologies as an economic development tool, strategic planning,  & tourism attraction;

 

2)     Entrepreneurship: gender research, northern Ontario research, and motivational studies;

 

3)     Finance: governance, portfolio, financial planning, investments, & international studies;

 

4)     Higher education: student attraction & retention, pedagogy (online & in-class), credential evaluation, prior learning assessment;

 

5)     Human Resources, Leadership & Management: spirituality in management, HR planning, equity, culture management, governance, corporate & social responsibility and ethics;

 

6)     Marketing: sports management, sports finance, sports economics, and Internet marketing;

 

7)     Operations: goal programming, optimization & efficiency studies, data envelopment analysis (DEA).

 

A number of historical research bulletins are provided below outlining the contributions of faculty in the given years and a new format for reporting research activities is being compiled as part of the AACSB accreditation process that will be available mid 2012.
