Services Available to On and Off Campus Students 



"All services provided are strictly confidential"

The services are intended to be broad in scope, encompassing primary health care, health promotion and health protection, disease and injury prevention, emotional counselling and medical care.

Services offered are:

Nursing Consultation and Assessment Medical Assessment and Treatment
Referral Service Walk-in Care - First Aid Care
Blood Pressure Monitoring Over-the-counter Medication
Loan Cupboard (crutches, bandages, etc.) Immunization Program
Mono Testing / Strep A Testing Pregnancy Testing
MAP (morning after pill) Third Party Physical Examinations
Free Condoms Confidential HIV Testing
S.T.D.(sexually transmitted diseases) - Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention

Test Results - A follow-up visit will be scheduled in a week's time for all results.

Counselling Services

Students at university often experience new educational, lifestyles, and emotional pressures. Health Services provides health education and lifestyle counselling (e.g. counselling for any personal health concerns such as nutrition, weight control, sexuality issues, physical fitness, smoking and substance abuse (alcohol or drugs). Health Services works closely with Student Life and their counsellors in this very important area.

Services for Disabled Persons

Health Services is available to assist those persons who may required special services. Students, faculty and staff may contact Health Services for information.

Allergy Injections

If you wish to receive your allergy desensitization injections at Health Services please:

° Present with your current written orders and injection schedule from your prescribing allergist
° Bring your vaccine which will be stored at Health Services
° Book an appointment with a physician at Health Services at the time of your first visit
° The nurse will administer the injection
° Be prepared to wait 20 minutes after the injection

A physician must be present when receiving your injection
