Admission requirements

Ontario secondary school students who apply for admission to first year at Laurentian University must present an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), as well as at least six grade 12 4U/4M courses (as specified in each program listing) with the minimum grade requirements. Prerequisites may vary for each program.

Sciences de l'activité physique, Éducation physique et santé (B.E.P.S)

  • 1 cours 4U de Français
  • 1 cours 4U des sciences
  • 4 autres cours 4U/M (chimie et maths conseillés)

For Human Kinetics - Sport and Physical Education (B.P.H.E.)

  • one 4U English
  • one 4U biology or exercise science
  • four other 4U/M courses (chemistry is recommended)

For Human Kinetics - Sport Psychology (B.A.)

  • 5 other 4U courses

For Human Kinetics - Health Promotion (B.P.H.E.)

  • one 4U English*
  • one 4U biology
  • one 4U chemistry
  • three other 4U/M courses

For Human Kinetics - Kinesiology (B.Sc.)

  • one 4U English*
  • one 4U physics
  • one 4U chemistry
  • one 4U calculus
  • two other 4U/M courses

For Human Kinetics - Outdoor Adventure Leadership (B.P.H.E.)

  • one 4U English*
  • one 4U biology
  • four other 4U/M courses (chemistry and a 2nd language are recommended)
  • Personal profile form

*The Health Promotion, Kinesiology and Outdoor Adventure Leadership programs are offered only in English but Francophone students may choose to take 75 to 90% of courses in the French language. In this case, they must have one 4U Français course for admission.
