SEMINAR IN INTERDISCIPLINARITY (HUMA 5004)
The seminar in Interdisciplinarity provides students and faculty with the opportunity to meet regularly to address issues central to interdiciplinary study in the humanities. This seminar will provide students with a common context for interaction and discussion of thematic, methodological, and theroretical concerns of humanities studies. The seminar will meet at least six times across the fall and winter terms. The seminar is required to all HUMA students in their first year of study. Students in other years are encouraged to continue their participation, as are all faculty. Non credit.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
Students will be considered to have fulfilled the requirement if he or she satisfies one of the following :
a) the student has received a minimum grade of 70% in a 6-credit university-level second-language course within the five years prior to admission to the program;
b) the student successfully completes the Humanities M.A. second-language assessment exam, to be given early in the fall semester;
c) the student, during the M.A., achieves a minimum grade of 70% in a 6-credit university-level second-language course;
d) the student successfully completes the Humanities M.A. second-language assessment exam, to be given late in the Winter semester.
