Emily Donato

Emily Donato has worked in the Laurentian University School of nursing as faculty for over ten years. She has taught in several capacities as a clinical instructor, faculty advisor, course professor and also, program coordinator and collaborative coordinator for the Northeastern Collaborative Program. Prior to teaching, she had worked as a staff nurse on an intensive rehabilitation unit, public health nurse and, educator/counselor with the Alzheimer Society. She is actively involved in her faculty union as Vice president and is a faculty representative on several joint committees which exist to enhance teaching and learning within the university, as well as the educative experience of learners. She has been involved in the inaugural and subsequent years of the Occupationa l Health Summer Externship for nursing students, and is a member of the Ontario Occupational Health Nurses Association, and Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, as well as holds a Certificate of Competence in Nursing.
Continued areas of interest: self-directed learning, technology enhanced learning, and sharing and dialoguing on these areas in order to improve teaching and learning.
