SPAD Field Trip

A graduating class field trip experience has been a part of the SPAD curriculum from the very beginning. It is another example of blending theory with a practical experience. However, it was also conceived as a promotion component of the SPAD program.

The field trip concept is to have the graduating class travel to a pre-determined city, prepare a budget and devise a fundraising campaign. The professor in charge will secure projects within organizations in the designated city that are willing to join in the educational process. We try to secure approximately four organizations that would be willing to challenge a SPAD group with a "real-life" project. The group must then research and prepare a proposal paper that is sent to the organization one week prior the trip. In addition, the SPAD group will deliver a 25 minute "sizzle" sales presentation to organization personnel.

The SPAD group is evaluated on both the paper and the sales presentation by the organization's personnel.
